About the Event
The PEACES Collective, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to community development and supporting local businesses, Our mission is to embrace and promote our heritage as Makers, to help build thriving communities through collective economics and education. The Community for Action VIP Reception raises funds for our literacy initiative, SpREAD the Word! Tickets are tax-deductible in accordance with IRS Publication 526.
About SpREAD the Word
SpREAD the Word aims to promote reading, learning, and positive social growth through culturally and developmentally appropriate literacy programming for children and their caregivers. Disturbingly, the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) reports that only 33% of 4th graders, 31% of 8th graders, and 37% of 12th graders in public schools can read at or above proficient standards.
