The PEACES Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit fueled by people who care deeply - volunteers who show up with love, creativity, and purpose. We envision a world where everyone has the opportunity to reach their creative potential and collectively contribute to the growth, peace, and prosperity of their communities.

 

That’s why we’re inviting you to join us as a volunteer for our SpREAD the Word literacy program!

 

Why We Need You

​

The SpREAD the Word program is focused on addressing the urgent need for improved literacy among children.

One of the most significant barriers to reading success is a lack of access to books, and research shows that having books at home can foster a lifelong love of reading. 

​

How You Can Help

There are many ways to get involved:

• Distribute Home Libraries: Help deliver home libraries to Head Start locations.

• Package Books: Assist in preparing home libraries for distribution.

• Host SpREAD the Word Reading Fests: Join in organizing fun, engaging reading events.

• Become a StoryTeller: Share your love of reading with children.

• Support Fundraising Efforts: Volunteer at events or engage the community about the importance of literacy.

• Offer Your Skills: We need expertise in graphic design, Microsoft Word and Excel, MailChimp, website development, social media marketing, and more.

Together, we can make a difference. Even reading to a child for just 20 minutes a day can significantly impact their literacy skills.
